Welcome

UA Remembers 4/27/11 “A Day of Service” brought over 1,200 students, faculty, and alumni to volunteer 4,800 hours in tornado recovery efforts this Saturday, April 21, 2012.
Since the first hours after the 2011 tornadoes, the UA’s response to the needs of this community has been immeasurable. The emphasis the University of Alabama places on service to the community is a major factor in the remarkable story of this area’s recovery.
The TAVRC would like to thank The University of Alabama for all the time and hard work contributed to this community.

Tuscaloosa Spring Break Initiative

In anticipation of thousands of volunteers serving the Tuscaloosa community for spring break, local businesses and restaurants have partnered with the Tuscaloosa Area Volunteer Reception Center (TAVRC) to say thank you. The Tuscaloosa Spring Break Initiative (TSBI) is an incentive program for volunteers to visit local businesses.   Volunteers can present their Tuscaloosa Forward bracelet or magnet or volunteer badge at participating organizations and receive a discount or special offer.

For a comprehensive list of all participating hotels, restaurants, local attractions and other businesses, please click here!

Business owners interested in creating a discount or special offer for volunteers for the T.S.B.I. may contact Blake Senn at bnsenn@crimson.ua.edu. Magnets and bracelets can be purchased at the TAVRC or on online at www.tuscaloosaforward.com
